In the course of our 20 cumulative years in studying and minting gold and silver medallions, we have met many interesting people and had the opportunity to acquire a wealth of inspiring knowledge – truly the serenity of Spiritual Light or Nuur has no comparison…

At 24 QIRATS, we encourage our customers to lock their wealth in the collection of Nabawi Gold Dinar and Silver Dirham medallions that can also double as the perfect seal for the blessed institution of marriage during the ceremony of aqad nikah. In addition, these beautiful coins can be given as hibah (gift), be used to pay zakat, or facilitate the transaction of any halal form of tijarah.

However, it has been repeatedly splashed in the news about the sad plight of honest and hardworking individuals who were duped into paying for gold that was either not up to par or was totally non-existent. Many of these victims today are literally crying for justice, but the question remains whether they will ever recover even a fraction of their losses…

Hear! Hear! The glitter of gold wins again… The mad gold rush… The gold fever that caught many in the past is back, but with a vengeance and at an alarmingly epidemic pace…

As we all have been created with an ego and nafs, they sometimes get the better of us. Some of us understandably get very excited gazing upon the wondrous shine of gold and silver in its many forms. Then we begin to hoard and boast, and the false notion of being better than others slowly enters the inner heart and starts to taint it… That is precisely why we must purify our ownership of gold and silver through the payment of zakat.

This story is about the uninvited guest, a kind of darkness associated with deluded people who amass precious metals with ego and pride…

Take heed of this gentle warning – please don’t let the glitter of gold and silver fool you into heightening your sense of pride and dragging you down the wayward path of arrogance.

Arrogance is one of the most dangerous inner diseases of the heart for which the destructive effects are reflected in the behavior and conduct of the infected person who can be prevented from entering Paradise or Jannah on the Day of Judgment. In the authentic hadith reported by Imams Muslim and At-Tirmidhi, the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) said, “One will not enter Paradise if one has an atom’s weight of arrogance in his/her heart.” The inner Nuur will dim and disappear…

A man then asked the Holy Prophet (S.A.W), “One may love his clothes to look good and his shoes to look good?” The Prophet (S.A.W) replied, “Allah is beautiful and loves beauty, arrogance is: rejecting the truth and looking down on people.”

We seek Allah’s Mercy and Blessings in all that we do. May He increase us all in knowledge and allow our inner Nuu to shine through at all times with no room at all for arrogance… Ameen.
